Hugo Fernandes is a Research Associate and Graduate Student at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. Hugo Fernandes graduated in Electrical Engineering in 2007 and obtained his M.Sc. in Informatics in 2010, both with the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Portugal. Currently he is a Ph.D. student and works as an academic researcher at the same University. His main research is centred in digital image processing, computer vision algorithms, digital signal processing, machine learning, fuzzy logic and navigation systems. Throughout his academic work he has received 2 awards/honors.
Hugo Fernandes has been part of the organizing committee of DSAI international conference (2009 and 2010 editions). DSAI2009 has been recently indexed by Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Knowledge. Currently he is a member of the organizing committee of DSAI2012.
Hugo Fernandes has published 15 papers, from which: two papers have been published as invited papers in the "Journal of Digital Content Technology and its Applications", edited by AICIT; one paper is due to be published in volume 6763 of "Lecture Notes in Computer Science", edited by Springer. One paper will be published as invited paper in a special issue of "Universal Access in the Information Society", edited by Springer. During his work he has interacted with more than 30 co-workers in the authorship of scientific work.
